THE GENTLEMAN – Mission

The website mission is to inform its readers about the contemporary man through carefully crafted articles and images. We want to share a personal point of view and at the same time to create an open dialogue about the current gentleman’s universe – focusing on his fashions, lifestyles and cultures.

The aim is also to provide a creative, surprising and bilingual content – English and Portuguese - that is tailor-made to its audience.

THE GENTLEMAN – Hermano Silva, Editor

Since 2000 Hermano Silva works as a journalist. In the past he was part of the teams of the Brazilian editors Gloria Kalil, Erika Palomino and Joyce Pascowitch. Among the titles which Silva already contributed to, are: “Vogue Brasil”, “Homem Vogue”, “Moda” from the newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo”, “Key”, “Junior” and “Poder” by Pascowitch.

In 2009 Hermano Silva decided to take his passion for photography further and moved to London to study Fashion Photography in the MA program of London College of Fashion. In the same period Silva worked as assistant to the prestigious Norwegian fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø in his studio in London. Currently Silva is based Berlin, Germany, and works as a photographer and writer to several media formats.
