Urban-navy

The Brazilian fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch did one of the best menswear collection presented in January this year (2009) at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. With songs of Andrew Bird on the soundtrack, Herchcovitch did his own interpretation for the mariners. But nothing to do with Querelle or any other gay fetish towards this theme.

His man is real and can be found in any big city in the world.  They are into modern textiles, like tyvek and nylon, and into details. The stylist Mauricio Ianes mixed the pieces to create a very cool and unexpected look. Gold goes with plaid pattern, dots are combined with printed stars, and some hats covers the face of the models.

As always, the cut of Herchcovitch’s clothes is amazing. You should at least try one of his white and basic shirts to realize how perfect it fits. In this crisis era, it can be a good and safe investment. The bad news is that this collection will not be selled on his on-line store this season.
